I caught the tail end of the Northern Lights over my village last night. I kept the colours quite muted so the pictures aren't as satuarated as one you might have seen elsewhere.
(Pardon the Scottish Accent)
youtu.be/7ukQhycKOFw Solar storm on the Sun are what causes the Northern Light and Southern Lights! Has anyone heard of the Carrington Event of 1859. One of the biggest solar storms for hundreds of years.Link above will explain.Otherwise the 1859 is with its proper a Corona mass ejection.

Ian.
That's wonderful Bob. It's the thing I would most like to see. I did consider going to Tromso or that way up, when I was a bit younger, but never got round to it. Maybe one day ... . I found that documentary with Joanna Lumley - I think it was called 'In search of the Northern Lights', so emotional when the lights appeared. It was just magical.
A local(to me) guy on X has posted pics of aurora seen from Reculver towers in Kent!

I don't push the saturation sliders up that far - I prefer the muted colours so that there is some colour in the areas that you can see structure with the naked eye without going to the extremes that man people use.
