Best way to feed dry mealworms

Hi

I have bought a Bag of dried mealworms but understand that these should be presented quite sparingly ? My question is what is the best way to present these to the birds, should I do so in small quantities on their own, or should I add to another foodstuff such as mixed seeds ? Also what type of birds are likely to want this, and are they likely to feed at my apartment balcony ?
