The following letter arrived in the post yesterday, and while I know I'm not the only recipient of this standard DEFRA letter, it does send a shiver down the spine somewhat. This letter has been received by all neighbours in our road, well, all those I've spoken to, though I'm pretty certain those I haven't spoken to, have also received a copy.
For those who may receive the same or similar letters, but have concerns regarding its legitimacy, my advice would be to go to the DEFRA page for Avian Flu "Bird flu (avian influenza): how to spot and report it in poultry or other captive birds", using the following link:
https://www.gov.uk/guidance/avian-influenza-bird-flu
I am aware there have been, and still are, cases of bird flu a few miles away, from all around, and it has been mentioned in: "Avian Flu outbreaks: Share Your reports here", started back in November 2021. In fact, all around the Birmingham and West Midlands area, it has been quite prolific, though recently (no doubt masked by current political and financial issues) not very much reported.
It is still very prevalent, and currently, not showing any sign of abating any time soon.
The following link can still be used to share any reports of avian flu that you come across, and do not worry if it has been reported already, it may be so far back it can easily be overlooked.
