Last night, the contrails were looking nice and pink....
With so little cloud about last night, I never anticipated a colourful urban sunset, but alas....
And blow me, if I wasn't treated to a colourful urban sunrise this morning, the first since early September, apart from the Shropshire one late September!
Gave the wide angle lens a blast as well....
I wonder how long before the next sunset or urban sunrise.....

So apologies for the photo not being a sunset or sunrise but wanted to share this photo from my house I took as think it's colourful and worth sharing.
It seems the weather has been facilitating s little playing catch-up, another colourful urban sunrise Sunday 24th October....
The sky at all compass pointswas blazoned pink or peach coloured
Back to the grey this morning....
And for an urban sunrise....
Nice Mike, I have a couple of sunsets from tonight too - I thought the cloud formation fascinating, they just seemed to hang about all afternoon.
Good end to a sunny day.
Lot to learn
In reply to gaynorsl:
Lovely photos Gaynor, and as you say, a good end to a sunny day.
And as Ann says, there's something about "silhouettes of bare trees against a colourful sunrise or sunset".
A rare opportunity to grab a rural sunrise, but as the mornings weather was looking good, (the afternoon was questionable, which turned out to be a good dollop of snow), I nipped out and grabbed the following.
Starting to peep over the tree tops of Hay Wood from Baddesley Clinton
Casting a dark orange glow on the trees by me
Just above the tree tops
Casting a more brilliant orange glow on the trees around me
plus the nearby church...
