is this a common frog?

I have seen a couple of frogs recently in our garden, but am a bit perturbed by the shape!  I've never noticed the 'lump' being so large before, had plenty of frogs here before.  Can anyone shed any light?  thanks in advance!

  • To be honest I can't quite work out what's happened from the photo. It looks like the skin on it's right leg is still attached to its back. Anyway, my response will bump it up & perhaps someone else will know. Could it be shedding it's skin?

    Best wishes

  • I think it is a Common Frog. They do have that basic shape but as you say it does look very exaggerated in that one. It almost looks half-starved but I don't know if that's because of the exaggerated 'bump' or the cause of it
