Just signed in for 1st time since new upgrade. All very confusing.!! This will take a bit of getting used to. Is there any way to know who's online at any given time? Also had over 80 notifications so have unticked almost everything 'till I can work out whats happening.!! Will try posting a photo to see what happens.
Is there anybody out there? :-)
I agree with all that everyone is doing & we need to stick together & try to sort it out, been away for a day or so & just trying to get the house warm again, but will look in tomorrow.

Couldn't agree more - for me personally they need to fix the default image display size, the image file size and the font, which is too faint and disguise links too well. They also need to get rid of achievements and get rid of votes, replacing it with the ability to "like" a comment as you used to be able to. Liking always showed people that something was appreciated without bumping the threads back up every time someone says thank you to someones comment. These fixes should be easy to do as they are just "options" that have been inadvisedly set and I think they should be done first, if only to prove that things are fixable.
As for sorting out the threads themselves I think that they should take on the suggestion by one of the Osprey people (cant remember but it may have been Scylla or Heron77 and one entry on the home page for Osprey posts, requiring a further click to get into that area of multiple posts and it shouldn't be beyond putting that shortcut also on the righthand panel. I do wish that they would make more of the screen width when its available, after al that's one of the reasons html/word processing was invented - to be fluid across different sized displays. If they used more of the screen it would actually ease some of the indent problem.
They need to get rid of voting and attempting to work out what we want to see, just let us see stuff chronologically with a choice of whether we want to see oldest or newest first.
The indent problem will probably be the hardest, if not the impossible task. As with the last upgrade, I'm sure that there is a licence/support/ problem somewhere that means that there can be no going back. I suspect that the people that will suffer most will be the people who contribute to and read all the Osprey threads - perhaps they will have to find some other way to do business and comment/chat less- hopefully not, but I see it as a distinct possibility that some of the issues will be unfixablle. As I have said before some of this makes Facebook seem positively good.
Bobs_Still_Retired said:You start editing your reply into the text box in the forum. You also have to have your file manager open with the pictures that you want to upload. Left click on the file you want to upload and keeping the mouse button pressed just drag the file into the text box. You can repeat that for every picture you want to upload. If you know how to select multiple files at the same time (on a Mac you hold down the cmd button and click on each file) keeping the left click on you can drag all the files across at once. It's pretty similar on a Windows PC. Hope that helps.
Thanks too Bob for your help. You'll soon get me in the 21st century.

It should come out like this.
Thanks so much Paul, we've been away 2 days but will try tomorrow & see how it goes.
if you choose the edit html route for your multi loader, then there is no need to pen the dimension box, never mind edit it. The increased dimensions that you put in the html will ensure that the pictures fill the space as the software always reduces the size of larger pictures to fill the frame - that is because the frame size available changes from pc to pc and also changes when you are posting a reply that will be indented.
We've done it before Tony and we can do it again, I agree, it would be so awful if we lost any of the regular posters. I am limiting the time I spend searching for posts at the moment but in-between time picking up lots of helpful shortcuts, tips and guidance from regular users of this forum. When this new platform was first launched I could have easily kicked it into touch as I was so upset....... and still am to a degree but with a little extra patience and practice I am beginning to find out how we can navigate around some of the problems. Still hoping for some vital changes to the format though !

Well done Tony, glad it worked perfectly; love the photos you selected. Thanks for the 730 x blank size suggestion. It never ceases to amaze me what a great group of people we have on here all helping one another out - great teamwork friends !
Thanks Bob. I'll give it a try.
Another try at multiple uploading.
Brilliant that worked Thanks Bob. What I also did was to copy 730x0 which I reckon is the optimum width and then quickly paste that into the default settings on the source page.
