I'm starting a new thread as the old one is playing up. Here's a snap of the sea from Felixstowe Ferry to start it off:
Our herring gulls are red listed birds. Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.
nice view James, what's that in the water between the Piers?
cheers Terry

Great photos from Seahouses Jim, nice to see such a close up shot of Longstone Lighthouse (of Grace Darling Fame). Loved the one with the yacht sailing past.
EJ's Memorial Balgavies Loch Ospreys 2023
Grace Darling was a very brave lady, Mary. Not a seascape but deservers a showing seeing this young woman saved so many lives at sea.
Jim I have been to Seahouses many times over the years and I have never seen that Memorial to Grace Darling. Thank You for posting this photo. Yes very brave, I remember being read the story when I was in primary school, which was an long time ago.
Your welcome Mary, I bet you will have been so close to it too do you know the Parish Church of Saint Aidan Bamburgh?
Parish Church of Saint Aidan Bamburgh
Is that the church in the centre of Bamburgh? We had a day out to Bamburgh and Alnwick when we were staying in Melrose last October, it was difficult to get parked in both places. :-)
That’s the one Mary, Bamburgh has a square with lots of trees if you park up and walk up the road as if your going through the church is on the right across the road from what I think is a farmers market selling fruit and veg plus other things.Jim
I haven't contributed to this thread before so I thought I'd dig out some old photos. Nothing as dramatic as crashing waves.
The beach at Vatersay which is linked to Barra by a causeway.
Sunset looking east from Eoligarry, Barra.
The sea from above after taking off from Barra airport which is a beach.

Very nice pictures Tony.
Bamburgh has a large pay and display car park across from the castle Mary, but we have been lucky and always got a space around the square, Alnwick has a pay and display right next to the castle and always has plenty of room.
