Paul A's picture of his packed lunch has inspired me to start this thread. What do you have in your packed lunch? If you prefer to dine in style, which pubs, RSPB cafes or takeaways do you recommend? Pictures would be good too.
I'll start with our normal:
Our best ever lunch (late) was in Sardinia. We'd just finished a 12 mile walk in 35 degree heat and had core temperatures rather hotter than the sun. We staggered onto the terrace of a sea-front cafe and ordered huge bowls of Italian ice-cream with half litre of Peroni chasers - wonderful :-)

Needed a laugh P(PH)A so I read your thread again!! Musn't show OH though ... he loves those Royster Doysters TBone steak thingies but I can't find them in shops here!!
Am out tomorrow with Aiki at Wildwood, might manage to throw a cheese sandwich together!! lol

Great laugh, Paul. I wish I was that organised. All I can usually manage is a sandwich, an apple and a bottle of water.

You might be able to get a nice Reindeer steak there. Have a good day and I hope the weather improves.

I could live for a week off of one of your packed lunches Paul!! It looks like the low-fat margarine spread was put on with a plasteres trowel!LOL As for the lonesome tomato, we put in the meat or cheese (goodness can't have meat & cheese sarnies) & eat the tomato with it as a side dish. I do have a bit of chutney &/or lettuce in them, but "Dipping sauce",wow that's a bit of a luxury (what's Dipping sauce in French).
Seriously Paul, what a great write-up & I hope you enjoyed them!
Best wishes

I’m glad you all enjoyed seeing my packed lunch, I nearly didn’t hit the ‘post’ tab due to thinking to myself “maybe this is just a step too far, I mean, what type of mad people would like to read about making a sandwich?” It would seem there are still one or two mad people around.!! :-)
Maureen: The cheese is McLelland’s Seriously Strong, which you can find HERE. It has a strong, tangy taste (and to me it also tastes slightly salty). Nice though.!!
-EDIT- P(PH)A, Wendy? Hmm...leave it with me.!! I like this game.!!

Hello Paul,
what an entertaining read! I enjoyed it very much. P(PH)A refers to your original nickname. Do you remember?
Good night now, Bente
It's not that one B! Lol
Gosh, Wendy, you must have a very lively imagination to get so many new ideas for Paul's nicknames. I have no idea for this one. I would have thought of PB for Paul Bocuse or someone like him.
That would have been a challenge B as I don't think PB is so well known here, although he does put his name to quite an impressive cooker which I saw on eBay!!
Paul Hollywood.!!! < typed with a shaking hand > I really need to watch more TV. On to P(A)A now.!! Leafcutter Bees....hmm??
Yippee!!
