On my retun home today I went out into the lovely sunny garden to see if I had any takers for my Guardian Feeder. At the same time I was enjoying a lovely cup of tea. (Can you see where this is going?)
On crouching down to inspect the feeder (It's on the floor) I decided to shake it a bit to get some mealworms round the edge to try and attract the birds. (Are you there yet?)
Happy with my work I stood up and had a big swig of tea + half a mealworm!!!!!
There was an old Lady that swallowed a fly. Do you think she'll die? I have consolded myself with the fact that they have been tested on birds so I should be ok!!!!
Sarah(Perhaps for the very last time)
I've learned that I still have a lot to learn...

Poor Sarah! Now if you were a Celeb, we could send you to the jungle as you now have experience.
Who ate the other half of the mealworm?
Have you had any visitors in your guardian feeder yet? No more in mine since the robin the other day.
Cheers, Linda.

I don't think so, but It's hard to tell. I would fancy a spell in the Jungle, but always said the eating one was the one thing I could not do. Maybe I could after all.
Sarah
Sorry Sarah, but I did laugh. Guess you won't want your evening meal then.
OOOOHHHH Sarah you just gave me a judder and made me feel sick, good job I've had my tea, poor you.

That's dedication Sarah testing the worms before the birds eat them !!!I think I shall have to send both yourself and sparrow some of my bluetits, great tits, coal tits and robins, my feeder never stops, I am filling it up 3 times a week. I have noticed they seem to form a queue and go in one at a time. Birds with manners - well I never !!

I have not given up hope. However, I only have 3 blue tits, 3 robins and 1 great tit so even if they were in there constantly it would take a while to empty.
In hindsight, had I just stopped buying mealworms it would have been much cheaper, but any shopping opportunity is not to be missed.
Sarah (still alive)
Glad to see you are still alive Sarah!
I will take Birdwatcher up on her offer. I have 2 blue tits who rarely eat in my garden. They prefer next door. I have one great tit who calls every so often. I have a pair of faithful coal tits who call regularly but never for very long, and neither has shown any interest in the feeder. I have 3 robins, but only one has used the feeder and clearly doesn't like it. I really wanted it for my sparrows. Here is one attempt by a sparrow, with her mate watching carefully.
and here she is again
She never did make it inside.
[wave] Sarah, could you taste-test the berry suet pellets next, please, as I'd really like to know what makes them so popular with my gang. Thanks ever so.........
The necessity of bird-watching is a really good reason for avoiding all forms of housework.
The dust will still be there tomorrow - the birds may not be!
[wave] Sparrow - lovely photos (if I see many more today without first having to knock seven bells out of a few things I will probably have a nervous breakdown).
