Hi there
I watched Animal Park today and there was an article about the 'former' Park Elephants.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b006w6ns
About 5 years ago the elephants where removed from park, and transported across to France {the reason was the Bull Elephants where to boistorious to control)
The keepers where quite upset about the issues as they had become very attached to the Elephants involved
One of the keepers had a strong bond with one of the Elephants, and he went across to France to see his favourite Elephant. Of course it was very emotional to watch the bond between man and elephant.
He met up with his beloved Elephant and it was a test whether the Elephant remembered him after after such a long period of time.
There was a trick that the keeper produced for the Elephant to test his memory. The Elephant knew and reacted with gusto and it was one of the most 'surreal' thing to watch. I felt a lump in my throat. The elephant seemed to know the trick after all of those years.
It just shows how elephants do have a fantastic memory after all.

Hi Blackbird,
I absolutely adore elephants, probably my favourite wild animal. They are very intelligent and I love the way they have extended families and all look after each other.
Thanks for sharing the clip. I do watch Animal Park but I missed this one.
Cheers, Linda.
