Hi all - i just came across this on the Prime Minister's office website - a petition to to directly ask Number 10 to make provisions for bird and bat species mandatory within new and existing building developments - i know, another petition to sign, but this one's got to be worth 2 minutes of your time....

Well worth two minutes.
There is a sufficiency in the world for man's need but not for man's greed.
Hi LRB
Worth it for the sakes of provision for our wildlife.
Signed the petition {thumbs up}

Hey farmer, farmer, put away the D.D.T now. Give me spots on my apples, but leave me the birds and the bees, please!
I've signed too.
Janet - I'm very pleased to hear that you love bats. Me too. Bats are great! I am a bit biased as I am a bat warden! Brilliant idea to put a link on facebook, I'll do that too.
There is something new to learn everyday...

Hi Janet
Look out for a bat walk led by your local bat group this summer. They sometimes have a bat to show at the beginning of a walk if they are planning to release it back into the wild that evening. Occasionally bats that are not able to be released are kept by bat carers (by special licence only) for educational purposes and it might be possible to see one of these up close. Ask the organisers of the walk as I am sure they will be pleased to encourgage your interest. There's lots more information on the BCT website at www.bats.org.uk
Best wishes,
Sarum Bat
Thanks for that I will look into it.
Thanks for the link, i have bookmark the page.
