Hello Folks! Fungi come in all sorts of shapes, sizes and colours. Whilst some are edible, others are poisonous and best avoided. They can be found almost everywhere and are often easily overlooked. Many can be seen in woodland and meadow, especially at this time of year. Each Monday for 12 weeks I will be posting a little teaser for you. Without looking in books or on the internet (i.e - no cheating), see if you can identify the UK fungus. On Wednesday, so as long as no-one has guessed it, I will post one clue. On Friday I will post the answer along with some additional information for your interest.MYSTERY FUNGI QUIZ #12Clue: Wolves missed an opportunity.

I'll post a proper clue tomorrow, but can tell you that the above clue has a RSPB feel to it.
Nope.... ooh now is it a football clue? Is there an RSPB site near Wolverhampton?

I did think of wolves as a football team but still no idea.
Clue: Lilac.
lilac Bonnet or Lilac Fibrecap are the ones that come to mind but that will be too easy !!
Thinking cap on again I reckon
Lilac? the only thing I know of is Amethyst Deceiver...but a) I can't tie it in with any of the clues and b) I don't think it is very rare.....
The colour would be correct but like you I cannot work it round wolves, chances or football teams.
Working back on clue no.1 I was trying to get where the letters made up wolves, nearest I got was Wood Cauliflower.
Getting desperate aren't I ?
I can see you all have reserv(ations) about this one. Don't worry its not dual chromium.
