Probably far too easy for you all to guess this bird but thought these few photos were a bit different. Maybe we can start a guess the bird quiz !

LOL Alan, That's also why I was so convinced, they have been flying in and out all day.
I think this should be entitled "Here's lQQking at you Kid" !! I just love the Jay :)
That's a superb shot, Hazy. They are lovely birds but I find them very shy. I couldn't possibly be out in the garden like you are, they would disappear instantly.

That is a stonking good shot Hazel. Well done.
The others will tell you that I was jumping for joy at snapping my first kingfisher earlier this year, then wondered why it was still in the same spot the following day, and the day after ....... some joker had stuck a plastic one on the perch .... so at least your jackdaw was a real bird. Congratulations on your first one - they are worse than jays for stuffing peanuts down their throats, not to mention suet products.
Cheers, Linda.

Thanks so much everyone; I must say I liked seeing the tufts on the top of his head when I zoomed in LOL Wish I could drag you all into our garden as he (and Mrs Jay) visit the garden regularly, almost every day ........... so far; Would love to share the Jays with you ............. as long as you bring me a FINCH - any kind, not fussy LOL
ps. Jays are eating me out of house and home ! Topped up peanuts 4 times. I have now put out more Niger seed and Black sunflower seeds as advised to bring in the Finches LOL
Oh Linda, a KINGFISHER but what a pity it wasn't the real thing LOL I can only dream of seeing such things but I will have to get out on my walks by the river banks to see this treat. I would settle for a plastic one right now !
I've got my eye on you, Hazy. Fancy trying to pass me off as a common or garden Jay.
LOL LOL LOL !!! can't stop laughing
Oops LOL, may have to rephrase that one ! Yes, it must be the female, looks so cute :) lovely photo.
Just thought I would throw one of my kingfishers in for you Hazel and its not a plastic one LOL. They come so close, but to the hide we never see Jays in the garden

Oh Judi, that is so beautiful - Fantastic photo, well done and keep them coming LOL
