After some concerns which were raised last week, we'd like to ask your opinion on who should be able to see your Community profile page?
That's the page that tells people about you, and links to your friends and recent posts etc.
Why not check out the news from the wildlife enquiries team?
Nicki C said:This is not the place to discuss this as it is the RSPB. Respect the moderators wishes and keep issues unrelated to bird/wildlife issues off this Forum
I thought this thread was about profile privacy and consider the discussion relevant to the thread.

This is the Profile Policy thread on the RSPB as it should remain at that
I have my thoughts, and like a good chat as we all do, as I am keen to have a happy life on here along with everyone else.
That includes talking about issues such as we are talking about on this thread for the RSPB - not for anyone else with an alternative agenda

Kathy and Dave
Thank you MrsT , I agree entirely with what you have said here
Lets hope that it remains this way now

It is someone that is banned from here already, and has another profile
Ignore the troll please once more
I have searched and searched and can't find any posts by a troll, or banned member , so great that our moderators are doing a quick and excellent job,if that is the case :0)
An optimist sees the beauty of the complete rose.A pessimist sees only the thorn .
Afraid I may be off topic but here we go again all in-fighting.I am all for different opinions but if someone is really abused then surely the same advice comes into play as about the trolls ignore then press abuse button.DO NOT FEED THEM,Forum in chaos from within once more seems we do not need help from outside to create chaos.HELP MODS PLEASE.
I may seem a bit thick here, some may say a lot thick, but where the heck are all these trolls, spammers and other alien life forms, bit like looking for "reds under the beds".If this is the way the forum is going it will not be worth logging on to cetain threads.

Birding is for everyone no matter how good or bad we are at it,enjoy it while you can
Hi Seaman, the only Genuine Troll within the true meaning of the term was Pigeon, the other upset was a banned member Pipit coming back to the forum as Tashnu.
The mods have dealt with both matters, but it demonstrates the previous points be vigilant within as well as without, anything else his just frankly Hysteria I am afraid.
The Mods are dealing with Privacy concerns as and when it is brought to their attention if the do not pick up on it themselves
Had no idea Pipit was banned or that she had come back.Have never seen a Tashnu either.
On other sites the IP is used.I know it can block other people but to me it is worth doing, especially when the abuse is bad as was with Pigeon.
It also quickly stops people coming in with false identities which isn't nice.
There is always those that pop to outside venues, like libraries, etc etc etc that can be an even bigger problem as it would ban a whole library which is a bit sad.
If i did anything wrong , got banned and not allowed back on....Hence my IP....Truth is, as a former mod.,that, is what we did.Works .....
What a pity that a innocent thread by mods trying to be helpful seems to have almost got to a brawl, they must wonder if we are worth it.
