Taking this entirely too seriously, the thing to remember is to not let the biscuit distract you from the important job of keeping an eye on the birds. One moment's lapse in concentration, and you might miss the moment when a great auk, phoenix or dodo lands in your garden, only to promptly fly off again. (Remember, you can't count birds in flight). So that rules out anything that:

    • Is too tasty, as you'll go back to the kitchen for more
    • Involves dunking, as you will have to watch it to make sure the end doesn't break off into your drink
    • Produces lots of crumbs, both from the risk of them going down the wrong way and prompting a coughing fit, and as you'll have to spend time and attention brushing them off your clothes. And not to forget the wrath of the other half as they find them on the recently cleaned carpet/furniture.

It is clear that a great deal of research is needed on the subject, and I offer my services gladly to investigate such an important issue.

There you go Sparrow, you need to make sure you have one eye on the birds, and the other on the end of your ginger nut.

Chris, the other problem with crumbs, and one that is specifically for ladies, is that when you are doing the BGB and eating your biscuit, make sure that you don't have a low neckline top on in case your crumbs disappear somewhere where you can't get them out without taking your eye off the birdie. :-)

    Best wishes Chris
