Once again, it’s time for MrsT’s quizzes to branch out and spread their roots, and this round... you’ve guessed it, its trees! They help regulate our climate and provide food and shelter for a whole host of animals as well as providing us with a variety of resources, we might otherwise take for granted. Let’s face it, what wood (pun intended) the world be without trees? They come in all shapes and sizes, as do the leaves and fruit that they bare and yes, I was one of those kids who loved the school trip to Westonbirt Arboretum. For the next 12 weeks, I will leaf you with a clue or two about trees for you to mulch over.EnjoyMYSTERY TREE QUIZ #2Clue: An air-raid shelter brew.
Oak tree, during the occupation in Jersey (WW2) for the young people, coffee and tea was unobtainable so a substitute was made with Acorns.

Perhaps it's a little early for me to practice my evil mastermind laugh, yes?

Birding is for everyone no matter how good or bad we are at it,enjoy it while you can
Surely you'd have to be RADA trained to make your voice travel that far? I was useless at drama at school, except for pretending to be a tree oddly enough......
Clue tomorrow people!
I have just had another thought - Service tree, Sorbus torminalis. I can tie in the brew reference but not sure about the shelter bit.
Brew = tea = tea service. The fruit were also used in the brewing - I think you can make a cider with them
Some where in the very back of my memory is some thing about them also being called either the Travellers friend or Soldiers friend - but that would mean hunting through my herbals and I am not going to do that yet!

I remember taking our daughter to classes like that but she could never stand still long enough to be a tree.
CinJ - has Morrison in the latin words & this was a table shelter - maybe to serve the tea on!!
