Surely not!
Could it be so easy as to be Greenfly, they live off the sap of plants so could be classed as parasite's?
At the moment that is the only thing i can think of as well, Shane, think we need another clue, not that it will help much.

I think you have got it Wendy. I see quite a lot of one of the species when I am doing butterfly transects.
