Hello Folks! It's time to go underwater and explore the wonderful world of UK fish. Some are spotty, some have stripes. Some prefer lakes, others prefer streams. Prepare to get your feet wet and get your fins in a flap!Each Monday for 12 weeks I will be posting a little teaser for you. Without looking in books or on the internet (i.e - no cheating), see if you can identify the UK fish On Wednesday, so as long as no-one has guessed it, I will post one clue. Heres a stab in the dark again as I know you like highlighting animals in trouble on your quizzes MrsT, I am going for Burbot as it sound like an anagram of Turbare albeit not spelt the same. The fish is possibly extinct in the UK now but some think it still survives in certain areas.
Interesting one that Shane,forgot it was a freshwater fish.I seem to remember it came back from the "dead" a few years back when one was caught in Cumbria.
I thought it was worth a go Pete just as it sounded right. Since looked into them more and was surprised to see its a member of the Cod family.
Is Cod the one that comes wrapped in batter Shane ?
