Hello, I just want to say I was out walking the dog last night around 10 pm when I saw a snowy owl in the woods. I live in a quiet area surround by woodland however, the wing span was huge. I stood quietly and watched him / her glide. I live just outside killearn which sits about 16 miles outside Glasgow and similar to stirling.
I wonder if it's an escapee from a Bird of Prey Centre
(Pardon the Scottish Accent)
It could be an escapee.
Barn owls can look like they have almost white plumage in poor, low light or dark conditions.
Have a look at the "Wildlife Trusts How to identify owls".
A quick look through some older posts here about possible snowy owl sightings, suggest similar, it may be a barn owl.

Snowy owl can be ruled out as wrong habitat and behaviour, as well as location. If it was an owl, rather than something like a pale buzzard, it would almost certainly have been a tawny owl. Possibly a young one.
It just had such a large wing span, but I hear what your saying
