Hi. I'm very new to bird watching. I'm back on hols in Northumberland and visited Alnmouth yesterday.
I think I saw Lapwings feeding on the estuary banks. It was the head tuft that seemed distinctive. But due to distance and light, I couldn't make out much else. They certainly looked dark on upper body, with white neck/lower body.
Would this ID fit with the location?
Certainly sounds plausible JP, and the tuft is distinctive, and if the light is right, the back and sides iridesce beautifully
Ty!
