The blue tit pair started building the nest 1st May.
2nd of May this happened. What will tomorrow bring?
Aw, that is not so good Billy, as.Sheila has said, your description is enough, I didn't want to see more fighting. Hopefully a couple will settle yet. Always the same, plenty accommodation and they want the same box?!

We have had exactly the same thing happen in our box 3 days ago. After several months of one bird sleeping in the box overnight, a nest started being built. Two blue tits were seen building the nest, which looked almost complete, then a massive fight between two (not sure if female / male) lasting exactly 30 minutes before both birds fled the nest. We've seen one bird at the hole for a few seconds the following morning but nothing else since. Very sad. Similarly to you, plenty more boxes in the adjacent gardens.....
