Can anyone tell me why a pair of Robins, who were busily making a nest in a nest box in my garden until a couple of days ago, have suddenly disappeared?
Their disappearance coincided with the sighting of a sparrow hawk on the fence in my garden. Would the hawk have taken both Robins or just frightened them off?
Very sad not to see the pair in the garden.
Thank you.
Jane
Thanks. Sorry about that. It is probably the case of one adult being predated. Quite often, especially early in the season, they'll go again in a nearby location.....if the pair was still intact.
Do hope you get Robins back in your garden Jane, maybe you'll let us know of any successful nesting?

Yes, Wendy, of course I'll keep you updated on any progress. Haven't seen the solitary robin again though, unfortunately.
