Although I live in North Dorset I visit Ham Walls as often as I can. I will always remember the first visit. I had never seen a Bitten but heard one, on that visit I saw three flying around close together, magic.
Hope the hides are all back in operation soon.
Hello Paul, welcome from way up north at the top of Scotland, in Caithness. Hope you enjoy being here.
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
Yes thanks, I've been a RSPB member for over 30 years, and this is the first time I've ventured to join an online group.
Hope the weather isn't too awful for you at the moment. I love Scotland and drove up to Inverness last year and saw a large variety of bird life.
Best wishes.
Paul.
We are 2 hours north of Inverness. Snow flurries here today supposed to turn bad again next week? We often get a bad week at the start of April, hope the snow won't be too bad. Poor new born lambs?
Just seen the latest pic from Loch Garten, quite a covering of snow on the nest, hope you don't get snowed in CL!

Hi Paul and welcome to the forum from me way down South in East Kent ... do you have any pics from your trip to share with us?

After my last escapades a few months ago, I sincerely hope not! Not that I want that to happen again but I have a new car now, a few weeks ago, a SUV, so bigger than the wee one I had, but don't want to try it out, being stuk for several hours in the snow!
I don't have any of birds,or places that I visited sadly now on my phone.
Welcome from me on the Durham / Northumberland Border. That said I lived for 33 years near Cheltenham in Gloucester followed by 2 years in Devon before moving back "home" in 2017. I used to visit Ham Wall and Shapwick Heath when I lived in Gloucestershire - great reserves and great for Marsh harrier and Great White Egret, as well as Osprey migrating back to Africa.Has there been a problem with their hides?
