Rookery nearby

Hello friends, I just want to run something past you. Hubby and I have seen a wonderful house that we would really like to buy - however there is a rookery very close by in a farmers field. The birds are very noisy and we are just wondering if they would drive us mad and also frighten other smaller birds away from bird feeders etc.  This might seem like a silly question but moving to the countryside to us meant peace and quiet. Would the sound of the rookery fade after a while and I guess it would be better than road traffic noise etc.  All thoughts appreciated. Thank you.

  • move to your new house and you will find a wonderful start to spring when the rooks start breeding .we are surrounded by rookeries and would miss them very much. believe me many would give anything to have them around. they are also farmers friends eating lots of destructive pests. . happy days. billf
