It was down the side of the garden by a fence. There are two big lakes over the back of where we live. About quarter of a mile away, maybe less.

We normally see Sparrows, some Kites, Pigeons and Blue Tits. The odd Jay, Robins and some Blackbirds.

Random/tangential thought.

Looks remarkably like a feather from a Warren hen.

(Seen enough of them from the one's round in their posh shelter/nest box. For the benefit of people thinking HPAI, the shelter/run is ingress-proof for birds. The last thing that got in was a polecat - a local wildlife 'tick at the expense of four hens. The wirework required an upgrade.)
