The best bins are Lieca and Swarovski and a decent pair will cost £1000 - £1800

I remember reading on a thread some time ago that someone advised being very careful about buying things like cameras and binoculars on ebay. You have no way of knowing the condition or feel of the item before buying.  We have Opticron, 9-22 x 10  for the car,  but they can be a very expensive item and we have leica equipment otherwise.

Hi Kezmo, I'm glad you've asked this, I shall be keeping an eye on this post because I'd like to know the same thing. the ones I have at the minute are a cheapo give away pair got them free for purchasing something else. they are 10 x 25 and there fine if I'm watching birds in the garden, but if I want to see whats birds are sitting in the oak tree just outside our garden I can't see a thing with them, also I see double when using them I have to keep one eye closed, I focus each lense but that makes no difference I don't know if it's because there cheap binoculars or if its me and I maybe ought to go for a monocular instead.

I'm also glad you asked this question, although there is no way I would pay £1000 for a pair.

Mine are handy pocket sized lightweight ones 10 x 21 and are fine for the garden as Janet says. I also sometimes (but not always) see double when using them, even though I focus both lenses properly. (or it could be the wine).
