Rusty cast iron bird bath

  • Hi I have a very old, very rusty cast iron bird bath. I have cleaned off the loose rust from the bowl but it is still very rusty (there is no paint left on it). I like the way it looks but should I worry about the effect that the rust might have on birds that use it?
