Redwings

A little party of 4-5 Redwings have been feeding daily on the berries of a viburnum tree in my tiny London garden, since the beginning of February. I've never noticed them here before. Not being very knowledgeable, at first I thought they were thrushes.

I believe they are winter visitors from Scandinavia. Can anyone tell me  how long they will be staying, or anything else about them?

  • Hi Sarah welcome to the community from Sheffield.
They are a member of the Thrush family, they are a winter visitor from Scandanavia along with Fieldfares and Waxwings, they will probably move on from your garden once they have finished the berries and will probably be leaving the country in another month or so.
