Why not have a thread for Beetles too? So, who is this little critter? I found two of them on the dried out runner bean pods.
Some bugs I have taken over the years.
Ants farming aphids
Grasshopper laying eggs.

Thanks Hazel, all taken with a Panasonic DMC FZ50 most were taken in 2007.
EDIT And I still have the camera up and running :)
I found a very colourful insect in my garden yesterday morning. When I found it, the critter was on its back. The legs were moving slightly but not all of them. I brought it to the kitchen and having taken a few ID shots, I left in in the sunlight in the hope that the warmth would reanimate it. Sure enough, after a couple of minutes it took to the air and was gone. I posted pics on Twitter and was informed that it was a Rose Chafer. Beautiful colouring.
Very striking bug. And, if you don't know what it is you can always scan the QR code to ID it.
