Ooh, lucky you, Karen. What a little stunner she is. Hope she returns so that you can get some more pics.
What a beautiful surprise visitor to have Karen and well done capturing it on camera; goes to show what having a pond (large or small) can add to a garden with visits from such birds; we installed a pond 4 years ago and a Kingfisher came to check if there were fish in in - which there isn't so never seen it since !
What a beautiful photo - kingfishers are such stunning little birds! Thanks for sharing it with us.
Stunning photo, great capture. Hope she returns, maybe even takes a fish?
What a lovely visitor to get Karen. Hope she returns.
Fabulous, Karen! and brilliant photo! I think Kingfishers have been struggling again with the rivers and streams very high and muddy, so they can't see the fish easily. Garden ponds must be a life-saver to some of them. Have you got fish in yours, Karen?
This little lady has visited previously and sat on the water feature figure over the pond. This is the first time she has stayed long enough for me to grab my camera. I've got fish in the pond but they are all under cover. She just has a look and then flies off. This is a real thrill for us. We've spent years creeping around river banks trying to sneak a glimpse of one. It was very exciting.
No wonder you were excited Karen, brilliant to see one at all but when it was in your own garden - just fabulous.
