The tough guy of our neighbourhood has been distinctly approachable of late - and has been treating me to some lovely poses:
It's quite cool to see this rather large bird perch on something this thin:
It's even more cool when he demonstrates his caring, family side! Here he is with one of the kids:
They both look quietly happy with life:
The young bird looks rather less happy here - he's clearly hungry:
Awwww!
The young bird looks in beautiful condition judging from the sheen of those feathers:
Hope you all like these!
Lovely, Clare! Our neighbourhood Jackdaw adults seem to be starting to moult - not the handsomest birds around right now!
Thank you Clare
You can see how big they are when you get up close can't you. I like the way the jackdaws scatter when the crow turns up. Lovely pics.
They are big birds - the herring and lesser black-backed gulls are the only birds around our garden to be even bigger than the crows. The jackdaws generally flee from the crows as they get chased off by them!
