I have a camera in my nest box and all my blue tit chicks are dead in the nest and the mother has left am I able to remove them, clean the nest and put it back up?
No, sorry, but it is illegal to clear out any nests until later in the year after nesting season is over ... seems harsh but an offence under Wildlife Act to interfere with a nest ... can be cleaned out & disinfected September time then resited for any birds which may choose to roost overwinter or removed if you do not wish to encourage any more!
Always sad when a nest fails especially when you can see it happen!
