Seed swap

  • In reply to Kezsmum:

Hi Kezsmumyou are so right about Hellebore seeds being promiscuous, they are fairly easy to grow and if i remember correctly take some time to germinate and flower probably second year improving each year after that and of course flower when hardly anything else does and as a bonus seem one of plants biggest survivers whatever conditions they get.

  • In reply to Sooty:

I like the idea of seed swapping, will have to start saving some extras in the Autumn to swap to you guys.

Plenty of notice any how.  :-)

So, Sooty has Hellebore seed and Welsh Poppy seed for any interested parties and soon(ish) I should have some cowslip seeds (the seed capsules are plumping up nicely but are not yet ripe) and some salad rocket seed (it's just gone to flower, so they'll be a while yet) I also noticed some Meleagris seeding, sadly not a lot of it, so can't offer that as it would hardly be worth posting. Things are coming on:-)

  • In reply to Kezsmum:

You can count me in on the seed swap as well

We always have far to much

    Cheers

I would think we could get involved too - sounds like a very good idea to me.  Zara is probably more likely to collect seeds than me although I may collect some flag irises this year.  Zara has got some ever lasting sweet peas and will collect more this year.  We usually have loads of spare packets of other seeds we have bought too.

    Hi All,

Love the idea and if you like corn flowers then I might just be your man!!......

To put another twist on it we should all have seeds from a single donor plant (I'm thinking sun flower here) and then see who can grow the biggest?....

Count me in I can hear my yellow rattle rattling with delight already! LOL

Trust a bloke to turn it into a competition - I blame hormones:-)

  • In reply to Kezsmum:

Hi Kezsmum sent a message if you did not receive it will try again.

  • In reply to Sooty:

Been discussing it with Zara and we can probably do lupins and dandelions too

    Cheers
