Th BTO are actually running a survey of birds with beak deformities at the moment, and their website provides quite a lot of information about types of beak deformities, consequences of this, and possible causes. They are looking for as many photos as they can get as well, so definately send this one in - its really good!

That's an excellent photo. Such a shame he's got that deformity but it's surprising how they cope. As Sarah has said , please do report it. You will be helping the BTO with their work.

Thanks everyone - I sent the image to the BTO. My home office is in the country, so I get a fair few birds at the feeders and keep a look out for anything unusual
