Our blue tit nest box has 4 live chicks and one dead chick. Should we remove the dead one? The adult does not seem to be able to do this, although it has been dragged to the edge of the nest.
Hi , as much as this is distressing for you to see...I am assuming its on a camera but nest boxes should never be touched unless it's in autumn for cleaning. You gotta let nature be or run the risk of breaking the law and the nest being abandoned by the parents !
