Too many starlings

I’m new to bird watching, only six months. I was enjoying all the smaller birds, getting to know their routines.  But since the starling moved in most of them have gone  I’ve tried spikes, different feeders and foods. Please, how can I get rid of them and get the little ones come back. If they lefttgeeerders alone I don’t mind them feeding off the floor. They here 3-5 times a day. They really are causing a right pain in backside. How can I get rid please

thanks in advance for any help

Sue

  • Hi Sue that's the problem with feeding at this time of the year am afraid there can be lots of young starlings around and who wouldn't want an easy meal. In my experience the starling are only around d in my garden for 3 wks or so and I only put food out for 1 hour a day but if you want them gone then only option is to remove food source and perhaps start feeding again   autumn/winter . Just bare in mind how dry the ground is just now and how difficult it is for the to dig for worms....oh and starlings are in huge decline also.

    Good luck
