We have a nest box with a camera in the garden, this year the Bluetits have taken residence and have been building their nest since February. On 12th April the first egg was laid, we have had one a day and today she laid number 14, is this unusual?!!
Hello Tania, I count 14 eggs on your photo and that is not so unusual as blue tits can lay from around 8 to over 14 eggs, although the nest boxes we had in or last garden normally produced 10 or 12. Looks like you are in for some wonderful nest camera action so enjoy but remember to stay well away from the box once incubation is started and never place bird food too near any nest box or nest site which could attract predators.

Great, thanks, we are hoping for great footage!! Yes our feeding station is well away from the box.
