Is my visitor lonely?

I've a pheasant in my garden for 3 weeks ,andvive named him.Phil ..we've allotments at the back of us and lost of shrubs and heads  off up there at teatime , my cats don't bother him and I love to hear him shouting in a morning when he wakes up...we've a large ornamental Mirror and often find him talking to himself,  ....I think he thinks he's his mate ...could I get him a friend or would it be hard to keep ? What's the best way..thanks in advance

  • Worth taking the mirror down as he'll be seeing himself as a rival and wasting energy. Not sure which part of the country you're in, but here, pheasants appear to currently be the most common bird species, along with wood pigeons. Both have boomed to unsustainable levels, and the release of huge numbers of birds each year really does need addressing due to the damage they cause to the environment and vulnerable species, incl reptiles and amphibians.
