JackDaws on chimney

Hi

looks like I gave some jackdaws trying to create a nest on top of my chimney, both chimneys are not in use anymore and have pots/caps

think they first start very recent as found a couple twigs below building

looks like there building it on the flat part of the chimney as cannot see anything on top of the pots, you can see some twigs.

when will these birds be gone as I want to arrange a roofer to inspect chimney condition and to do more to discourage nesting again and I have a couple of tiles I need to sort

  • Hi , sorry nobody has replied...the forum is rather quiet the now

I have found this for you as I ain't an expert but hopefully it helps

  • Thank you

I will definitely wait till later in the year, though may get the roofer round soon to check and then book us in his diary around august time.

They do look like there nesting on the chimney area itself rather than the pots so hopefully the wind gusts don’t blow them away, had some twigs already and one I can see poking out the gutter, will get window cleaner to grab that

I have fancied a drone for awhile so may get one and go look around up there at a distance of course unless the roofer has one
  • Good luck with it all ;-)
