Duck

  1. Today a duck appeared in my driveway.  It has since flown up onto the roof of my garage and has sat there all day.  Anything I should do for it?  I suggested to my wife it may be just tired but has sat now for about 6hrs.

    Hello Phil, I think it looks like a breed of Muscovy duck (possibly Lavender Muscovy Duck) which as far as I am aware were a domestic species which were originally imported. Other members may be able to confirm this or offer other suggestions. If you have any regular mixed bird seed you could put some own for it and a shallow dish of water; hopefully it will move on if it comes from the local area/breeder/poultry keeper.
