Robin in Backyard

One day, right after the bad snow storm here in north Texas, a poor robin flew into our back window. By the time I looked out, he was just standing on our metal table. He may have been dazed but didn’t seem too badly hurt. However, as I watched him throughout the day, I never saw him fly, just toddle around the yard. It’s been almost a week and he is still out there, just toddling around, eating worms and looking healthy. I have observed him flying up to the top of the fence when startled. One day he sort of dropped over into the neighbor’s yard, but a few hours later, he was back. Does anyone know why he seems to think our backyard is now home? Could he be in pain when he tried to fly and isn’t going very far? Did he hit his head and forget how to fly? I’m beginning to have feelings for him— ha!
