Bird with a call like a cross between a camera shutter, someone kissing and clucking!

I recorded this bird but can’t see a way to upload the recording. (Edit... I’ve added it to a video and put it on YouTube. Link below!). The bird is new to me here, in the flat part of West Lancashire. We live next to fields, one of which was grass until the last few days when it was cut for hay. The bird seemed to be a few yards beyond the other side of the hedge from my house.

It sounded very like an old fashioned camera at first. It’s quite a low, short zipping sound, or as I said above, like a cross between someone kissing and clucking. I thought of a partridge but that doesn’t fit because it’s a slightly longer, gentler sound.

Do you have any ideas about it?
