Mystery bird on Isle of Wight

My partner is calling me crazy but I’m convinced I saw an eagle while visiting the Isle of Wight yesterday.

I used to live in Scotland and saw several white tailed sea eagles while visiting the Isle of Skye and this was the closest thing I could compare it to.

It was a beautiful day with clear skies and almost no wind yesterday, there were plenty of buzzards and ravens around and this was MUCH bigger even at a great distance, with extremely broad wings (my exact words were ‘it looks like a flying door’!) and a short tail, it was gliding in very wide circles way up high overhead.

It circled overhead for about 2-3 minutes and then drifted out over the sea towards the mainland.

Am I crazy or is there any chance there was actually an eagle on the Isle of Wight?
