Robins nesting next to patio doors.

Hi folks,

I have at least one pair of Robins building a nest in some ivy. Lovely to see them at work.

My problem (and this may be why the location has not been used before, although for some reason there is always a lot of interest in the site) is that I am typing this message as the building project is taking place 10 feet from me.

I am sitting on a sofa in the my living room looking through the patio doors that lead to are large decking area.

I also have a dog.

I can put blinds up the doors, if necessary, and stop using them. I can also avoid getting within 10-15 feet externally but I have to use the steps into the garden proper.

Also, they are at the start of a 100 foot long privet weed that needs a cut. They are not in the privet, but about 5 feet from the start of it.

I have my house on the market and I need to keep it tidy as the smallest thing puts buyers off.

How close to the nest can I go with a hedge trimmer without disturbing the nest?
