Thank you Ian,I was slightly wrong but it is a alarming statistic that is horrendous.Hope science finds a way for poisons to be used that does not damage birds.Suppose it comes quite often from farms using poison for rats and know from experience how difficult it is to control them on farms.

We had five jackdaws in our garden today (all at once!!) - they're so comical when they come in numbers! I can't imagine why anybody would want to trap them.
Our herring gulls are red listed birds. Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.

This does show what is the worst case scenario in the use of the traps.This is why their use should be policed more closely rather than banning until there is an alternative way of control that would be acceptable to most.
