Egg collector Matthew Gonshaw has got a six month prison sentence, and an ASBO preventing him from traveling to Scotland during the breeding season for 10 years. He's also been prevented from visiting RSPB and Wildlife Trust reserves for the same time. This is his FOURTH prison sentence!!!
A thing of beauty is a joy forever.
Tiger, I suspect his ASBO is based on the areas he frequents. Obviously a reserve collector in the main. I suppose you can't actually ban him form the country in which he lives.

Apparently almost all egg collectors are from England. It's just not a Scottish thing! And apparently most fall into the lonely, sad man category, very few women involved.
Home again, home again.

Well said Sarah, always said the Scottish female was a wonderful advertisement for her father.
This man want his hands choped off, he will never stop doing it as he like a few more have one big obsession, to posses rare birds eggs, and no matter how many fines or prison time, they will never stop, unless something happend like falling out of a tree and breaking their necks, which is what happened to one well known collector, a few years ago. You all might be interested in this book that's recently come out - Wildlife Crime: The Making of an Investigations Officer, by Dave Dick. It talks all about egg collectors as well as other forms of wildlife crime, particularly about the illegal killing of raptors on shooting estates. Definitely worth a read.
