There is a e-petition for signing called vicarious liability that a private individual called Chrissie Harper has set up and to do any good as I understand it needs a 100,000 signatures, think Chrissie has done wonders to set this up that would if passed give the same protection to U K raptors that Scotland law has making the land owner responsible if his employees persecute raptors. With over a million members surely these members can make Chrissie's petition succeed, this may be the one chance,
Perhaps someone would be kind enough to put a link to the petition and hope Chrissie does not mind me putting this on as in a way pinching her thunder.
Signed it the moment it came out :)
Home again, home again.

Well done Sooty for bringing this to our attention, I have already signed. Persecution is getting worse so anything that helps is good in my view
Of all creatures, man is the most detestable, he is the only creature that inflicts pain for sport, knowing it to be pain. ~ Mark Twain

Thanks to everyone, mostly preaching to converted I realise but think Chrissie deserves all the support that can be mustered.
Mods----The RSPB are remarkably quite on this matter, surely not afraid of upsetting landowners. How about letting Mike Clarke know how concerned we are.
Surely lots do not have to resign for something to be done.
Come on RSPB we have played our part and signed your petitions and been pleased to do so.
Lets have some publicity for Chrissie's petition, just because it is a private petition does not make it any less important.
This will almost certainly fail unless the RSPB take it on board, what a disaster for raptors.
What seems so strange is that we hear so much about foreign things RSPB involved in such as chasing after Ospreys in Africa,Spoon Billed Sandpipers and dozens more which are admirable things and here something on our doorstep really important not a squeak.
Signed, hope it goe well :)
Already signed.
Viv.
Already signed but good reminder, especially as new members might not have signed it yet.
Sorry, just moved this down by commenting on something else! Hope the new members spot it if not seen before. Apart from persecution I would like a ban on shooting of any birds as well but that's another contentious matter and controversial I know and probably will never happen sadly.
Hi all, check out the latest blog post from our staff in the Investigations team, please forward this on to anyone you think would be interested!
