more to follow
Popped up this morning for the first visit of 2025 and boy it was cold
I was hoping to see young VHD who is still hanging around and as I arrived I could hear him calling and saw one bird flying off.
It turned out it was him flying off, he must have tried it on with Dad to get some breakfast and failed. He didn't come back while I was there.
Dad was on the ledge dining in the sunshine while Mum was in the shade on the perch
I moved round to get a better view.
Mum eventually came around the corner for her share
You can definitely see the size difference.
in his haste to get out of her way he knocked the carcass off the ledge, she went after it but didn't get it
a few more to follow
After missing out on the carcass she returned to her favourite perch in the sunshine to preen.
last batch to follow
She was quite content sat there in the sunshine until a noisy Crow landed on one of the spires above her, she tolerated it for a couple of minutes then decided to move it on with a gentle swoop at it.
this is her returning to base
THE END
pity it was so quiet the sunshine was perfect.
Thank you Alan, great start to our 2025 season, glad the sunshine was out for your visit,at least you can layer up for the cold.
Have checked cams but not seen them will have to be more diligent.
Take care
It was nice to see them again Kate though not as active as I would have liked lol.
Looks nice again Tuesday so hoping to pop up and see if young VHD is still around.
Great set of pictures Alan and a great start to the 25 season, thanks for posting.
WOW, off to a flying start to the new season D, so good to see all these wonderful captures and definitely looking forward to more!
