In 2022, four Barn Owlets, deemed to be 3 females and 1 male (the youngest), successfully fledged.
Here they are at their ringing day on 7.7.22
Hopefully, the resident pair will successfully breed in the nest box again this season.
A pleasure, Wendy. The box was empty every time I checked in last night.
You're welcome, Kate :) It was the first time I've witnessed the male perform his 'stompy' ritual since last season, I wonder if this is a sign that he's ready to mate? It will be interesting to see if, when the female is alone, she 'assumes' a low position at the back of the box when she hears him enter the barn.
Well hello my beauty , has she just arrived.?
changed position in anticipation?and preening, so she will be looking her best for himself....
