I saw a belated mention of that on Chat and started looking for it yesterday, but got waylaid and forgot, and now I'm flagging big time so I can't resume the search - and I hope I haven't deleted the relevant file :((( Thank you, Kate.

Cilla's latest re Rubus
NEWS 5th December 2022 Indigo seems to have picked up something that has stuck to his neck, probably a sticky blade of grass. It would appear not to go right around the neck, more as if it is stuck to his feathers. It doesn't seem to be bothering him as he is flying normally and hopefully he will shake it off soon. Please note that it is not possible to catch Indigo and remove it, and in any event, I expect it to come off by itself without interference. The other juvenile, Rubus, did not make it. His body was found on 29/11 and X-rays showed a broken collarbone and probable broken neck. So most likely a flying accident with instantaneous death.

I wonder if it does - hidden at the front by his feathers, round the right side of his neck and then dangling down the back? It would account for its persistence. In any case, it should rot away soon:

Could be, in your excellent vid ,as he comes into the cam ,you can ,maybe, make out the line around the neck, with the tip showing, nearest the cam

Brilliant red lines, KATE, that's exactly what I meant - I can't do free-hand due to tremors.
